Bismillahirrahmanirrahim..
Boston City’s resident’s majority are not Muslim. That’s why it is difficult for muslim to find a halal food, for example chicken and meat which are slaughtered in Islamic may, say Basmallah. Muslim mother or muslim sister should find it in a special store and often they should go around the city to find “daun salam” or “air kelapa”. It’s really not an easy work for muslim mother or muslim sister. Hope that Allah will give a better reward for them. Amin ^_^
Anyway..Since I want to be a good mother latter, so I try to cook as many as I can in Boston. A couple days ago, I went to Hay market which is located in Down town, far from my house in West Roxbury. I went alone by orange line to the down town. Actually, it’s not very difficult to reach down town. Really easy!! The difficult one was to find out the halal store.
Well, frankly speaking, I have had to the store, but I was with sister Dewi and her family. We drove a car to reach Hay Marke, and it was dark. So I can’t remember the way to the store.
I walked around the street, turn around to find the market. Crossed the Quincy Market, passed the McD, Hard Rock cafe..Still I can’t find the store. And was getting exhausted. I didn’t want to spend my dollar to buy hot chocolate in starbuck or McD, so I keep trying to find the store. Mmh..It’s not an easy job to find a halal chicken, though!!
Soon I realize, why didn’t I call sister Dewi!! Thank you Allah, He sent me that massage ^_^.
I pressed my cell phone to call sister Dewi. Alhamdulillah she hung up the phone, and she began to explain the direction to the store. Simply, the store is next to the Millenium Hotel, in front of the place where I stood up. Alhamdulillah!
So I ran over the street to that store. Phuh…I found it!! I got the halal chicken for my food.
I decided to make a fry chicken. Since the chicken was very huge (it cost $7.00 waa how expensive..!!), maybe I’ll make chicken soup and another foods. In that store, I found turmeric, coriander, but I didn’t get the ginger and the coconut. So, I have to wait to make the fry chicken until I find the ginger. I’ll find it it Roche Bros, the supermarket near my house.
However, when I want to go Roche Bros on Sunday, snow was falling down from the sky, so I can’t go to find my ginger. Phuh…I can’t hardly stand to eat my chicken, so I decided to make another food. Finally, I made fried rice with chicken in it. Hehehe..not bad!! I like the taste.
This is my job ^_^. I’ll give a portion to my friend, Wika, on monday. She missed Indonesian food a lot. So I decided to give it to her. Actually, we would cook on this Sunday, but the weather was not very good. It was snowy and no bus operate on Sunday.
I love to cook…hehehe..Cooking makes me feel like a real women. ^_^ It’s not difficult at all. So Come on muslim women, let’s start to cook!!

Daun salam itu bisa diganti oregano kering.
